San Francisco Olympians Amphitrite

The San Francisco Olympians Festival Amphitrite 2015
I went through all of the documentation I had managed to save for this particular piece. At some point, I had contemplated using crab claws to secure her veil in place and had discarded the idea. Which, seeing the final piece, I'm glad I decided against. I used larger model references for this piece because I felt like a goddess of the sea would be more bountiful. Not sure why, I just had that thought and started from there.
I really wanted to draw a background environment of a calm, beautiful and serene ocean. Perhaps where a storm had just been in the morning and now was gone and the sun was shining through. Of course the place is where this particular first river sprite turned goddess came from.
For 2015, I didn't have much time creating multiple boarders. I don't tend to when I do multiple subjects for the festival in the year. So, in a way I try and create something that ties the two subjects together and has my stamp of me on it.
